Learning Observed

This term our focus is on how we can be capable citizens. In order to launch this the learners participated in a capable iExplore on Being Sunsmart where they collaboratively explored and brainstormed ideas about what being sunsmart is all about. The lasting understanding from this iExplore was that we can be connected in a variety of ways and display these connections by predicting and processing what the steps are in beings sunsmart. It was great to see the learners supporting each other in being curious and deciding how to be sunsmart and  hear them describe their ways of being sunsmart as an example of how we can recall and connect with others.  All of the learners displayed their capabilities by working with a buddy on their own sunsmart presentation. The presentations can be found on the learner’s Google Drive.

Vicky and Reading

Learning Observed
In reading we have been learning about using the text to help support our answers. This group have been thinking about what makes sense as they read out loud and reading to understand what is happening in the text. Vicky thinks carefully about her answers and shows capability by listening and participating during small group discussions. She works collaboratively by sharing her ideas with others and also helping others when they are stuck. Vicky is beginning to show curiosity by asking questions and checking that she is on the right track.

Learning Observed

In iExplore Vicky has been playing in our loose parts playground.  She has been developing her curiosities in building new things.  In order to build her princess chair Vicky spent time collaborating with others to ensure that everyone was happy with the outcome.  Throughout this task Vicky showed her competency in connecting with others while actively participating in the activity.
